It's been a busy week so my blogging has suffered, but I haven't forgotten about my low (no) spend challenge and goals. While I didn't get 6 no spend days like last week, it's been a really good one so far (details to follow on Sunday).
I have great motivation to save... after much discussion and lots of flip flopping over vacation destinations (last weekend I thought we'd do Vienna and Budapest, then beginning of week we were going to land in Vienna and move west towards Bavaria, depart from Munich and since Wednesday we've decided on not just 1 but 2 trips later in the fall... more on this Sunday too! I'll post a clue in Sunday Night Chit Chat ;-)
We had a small snow storm last night, +7 C today! Unreal the fluctuations we've had this winter so far. I'll take it over snowmageddon we had last year!
Friday nights in 2012 are going to be fun... I still have to work Saturday mornings, but usually I'm fine staying up til at least midnight. We have a million channels on tv including Rogers on Demand, can get free newish releases and oldies, then pretty cheap new releases ($3.99 to $5.99). When you don't have to leave the house, and can eat your own snacks, I find it's a relatively cheap evening.
Another favorite thing is to head to the city after work and stop at Chapters and Starbucks. I'm sitting on a $50 Chapters gift card and a $55 Starbucks gift card, so can make a few trips for free, except for the price of gas.
Tonight will be some gourmet popcorn, a nice cold soda (some nights it'll be a spiked coffee ;-)) and a FREE movie... there's lots to watch before I decide to splurge on a pay per view!
Do you have any weekly rituals that you look forward to ? I can't do date night but this sounds like a lot of fun :-) Happy weekend!!

Friday nights we make/or order pizza and watch The Mentalist and Bones that we taped the night before. It's a standard...:)
Can't wait to hear about all your travel plans!
Yay for gourmet popcorns and free movies! Have a lovely weekend!
I'm excited to hear where you're going!! Your Friday nights sound perfect to me! :) You should post/review whatever movies you watch... I'm always looking for new (good) movies to watch!
What great ideas for a Friday evening. Lots of times I am at a loss for something to do that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg.
PS. I also really enjoy your blog!
Works for me! I like to check our local library for new releases - believe it or not, I can usually get pretty current stuff and it's free. A few snacks and it's a good, cheap relaxing night.
Sharon, those are 2 great ones too! You reminded me that I have 3 coupons for FREE pizzas that I have to use by the end of February :-)
fariha, thanks, you too!
Carla, I am loving this new ritual! I already have one picked out for next week!
Go and get, thanks for commenting :-)
Elizabeth, I check fairly regularly (movies are by the check out counter, so when waiting in line I browse) but my library doesn't seem to have too many recent releases. I noticed though they have some cool series, I should check some of those out....
No rituals for me. But I usually like to just hang out at home on Sunday to catch up on chores and to relax a bit before the work week begins. @_@
Enjoy your Sunday!
Michael and I go to Starbucks/Chapters almost every Sunday! It's one of our favorite things to do - we usually go after we've been for a hike, have a warm drink, browse books etc. So much fun! My starbucks gift card is down to only $10 :(
