I like the feeling of not having to blog on a regular basis if I don't want to... but I do log on daily and I still update my sidebars, stuff I always enjoyed doing. I think too I am a little tired of always working full-time. I had chosen to work part-time and did OK financially, but now I'm facing another 2 full months of 40 hour weeks and it's like I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel. I am not doing back-breaking work or anything, but it's not exactly what I signed up for. Not yet anyway.
Of course the money is good and I'm trying to put more in savings. Right now, ING is offering 3% on its TFSA for a while so it's worth putting the whole $5,000 in there if the money is available. (This is more than double their regular savings rate).
I have been spending some money at the local fruit stand, I like buying fresh and healthy but it's costing quite a bit... I'll try not to go as often as I don't leave there without $15 worth of stuff, at least. Today I managed another no spend day, my first in 5 days.

If this weather keeps up, your not missing much of the summer. If you kept to PT hours, how would it affect your pension? Or will it make much of a difference?
Some days I'd love just to work PT, but I'd never get out of debt.
I hope you have a great week at work.
Sam, right now it doesn't matter about the pension as I'm not even eligible until November 2010. Unless a full-time position became available, but I don't see anything until at least 6 months.
Have a great week too!
CS, What is TSFA? I have an ING savings, and I was just curious.
Sharon, sorry, I should have specified it was for Canadians... we have a Tax Free Savings Account that we can put up to $5,000/year and not be taxed on the interest earned...
Great job on the no spend day. And I think buying healthy and fresh produce is a good thing. I think its a worthy spend. To better health! :)
that is great you don't fell you "have to" blog daily! that's something hard for me to come to terms with, but i'm working on it :)
and fresh fruit! mmmmmm...i could go for some right now.
I hope things work out for you...
Gill
I havn't been around for a bit with the blogging world, I'm trying to get back into it again as I find it helps me to focus on my goals.
Love the updates you have made on your blog!
I have an ing account and saw the TSFA but I didn't look into it, I am off right now to check it out!
You are doing A-W-E-S-O-M-E!
One of the things we like most about living overseas at the moment is the low cost of fresh fruits and vegetables, which leads to a lot of savings on the food budget compared to North America! Regarding working part-time, do you still get your insurance and other benefits when you are not working 40 hours?

Thanks everyone!
Heather, WOW, haven't seen you in more than a year! I'll go visit your blog and catch up.
Jerry, with my employer, we have medical benefits as soon as we start a part time/full time position, even with as little as 4 hours/week. The dental and vision are for a minimum of 12 hours/week... So yeah, you can definitely work less than 40 hours and still get benefits :-)
